The Krispy Kreme Challenge

College kids (and I think I have to say "kids" now that I've been out of college for so long) come up with all kinds of ideas. Ideas of crazy stuff to do. Just to do it.

We used to setup an oscillating fan in our short dorm suite hallway, remove the protective cover, turn it on high, and hide in our rooms as we peeked out and threw various objects of food into the fan. M&M's were fun, yet a bit dangerous. We got creative. And, yes, we cleaned up the mess afterwards.

A couple of years ago Chris McCoy at NC State came up with an idea that is now called The Krispy Kreme Challenge. The challenge?
  • Run roughly two miles from the NCSU belltower to Krispy Kreme.

  • Consume one dozed glazed doughnuts (assume hot ones).

  • Run back.
The challenge is to do it in under an hour. People have done it in under 30 minutes!

It's tomorrow and there are already over 1000 registrants.

Seeing that makes me homesick. I don't know if I could do it in under an hour but it would be fun to try. Let us know how things are going with you guys!

I just checked out your blog pictures of your family's visit. Samantha is beautiful and growing so fast! And that funny face Caleb was making in that picture of him with the dye and eggs...reminded me of none other than Ms Amber Vann...haha. That is HER funny face too. I have some great pics you could use to compare!

Hope you are guys are doing well! Take care.
