I'm Packing PEZ

Time to Pack the PEZPEZ in a Box
Hi, my name is Chris.
I have a problem.
I'm a PEZ-a-holic.

You might be aware of my PEZ collection. It's grown over the years and the office is the perfect place to display it. Lots of people get to see it and it adds color and fun to an otherwise boring office.

Packed PEZBut now it's time to move to another office. It's in the same building, but unfortunately I can't take my walls with me. So it was time to pack. Time to pack a lot of PEZ.

Magnetic Poetry Minus the Magnets

Now you can waste valuable time sitting in your chair in front of the computer

-- instead of --

wasting valuable time standing in front of the refrigerator.

Make some senseless poetry for others to read.

Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?

Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Pinky: I think so, Brain, but what if the hippopotamus won't wear the beach thong?

Pinky and the Brain are back! AOL recently announced In2TV. It's basically a TV on demand service on the Net that's all free. Yes, it's an AOL product and it's all reruns of old shows, but they've got the bandwidth to support it and make it free.

You can watch Pinky and the Brain, Lois and Clark, Kung Fu, and more.

How much green can one wear?

Green shirt, green pants, green necklaces, green socks, green shoes, green coat, green hat (inside and decoration), green ankle bracelet, green nail polish, green Irish bear, green hair bow, and several other green things I'm forgetting.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

One can never have to much green.

Especially if their names are Delaney or Victoria!

Size Does Matter

This is ridiculous.

Why does each key I get have to be bigger than the last? Does key size matter?

We just bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey.

(Yes, I realize that purchasing a minivan marks a certain time in one's life that in itself is blog worthy, but let's just stick to the topic of gigantic keys for now, shall we?)

It replaced our ailing Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee had a large key in its own right, but the Odyssey puts it to shame.

Just look at this key in comparison to a normal size key. It's like Dr. Evil and Mini-Me. Throw in a 5 button key fob and you might not want this sucker in you pocket at all -- unless you wear cargo pants.

Everything else is getting smaller -- TV's, cell phones, PDA's, cameras -- but for some reason this metal key that starts everything in motion must be larger.

Why?

[Alternatively, this post could have been titled "Is that your car key in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" or perhaps "The bigger, the better"]

Pandora's Music Box

Check out Pandora. It's free personalized music.

You enter an artist or song you like and it uses extensive data from the Music Genome Project (over 400 attributes per song) to find other similar songs to play for you. You can further refine your own station by rating songs and adding more artists and songs. Create multiple stations. Share them. You can even skip songs you don't like.

It sounds good. It looks good. It works well. It's free. You can listen to your music stations from home or office or whereever.

This is quite a bit more technical than Amazon's and others "people who bought this also bought...". They have a crew of people with degrees and experience in music analyzing music to add to the database. It's amazing. You will probably discover new stuff you really like.

For some behind the scenes info, listen to Amber and Leo's Inside the Net podcast #6 where they interview Tim Westergreen from Pandora.

Give it a try!

I discovered Pandora yesterday and I am hooked. I have tired lately of my iTunes & CD's and although I have enjoyed web radio before Pandora is the next step in implementing www 2.0 ideas & technology. My only quibble is that it's currently just for the US - although a quick "borrow" of a US zip code and all was well :)
