Prime Time Geocaching

Our local newshound Dave alerted me that there was a story on tonight's CBS Evening News about geocaching. You can read it or view it online at CBS's site.

It's really good to see this fun sport get positive press. Dave and I went caching on Sunday and went 8 for 11. That brings my total to 50!! (Pictures of previous hunts here.)

We also found a "seed cache" where the contents of the cache container was other cache containers. To get credit for this one, we have to hide our container and get it published. This will be our first hide and we're already brainstorming for ideas.

Just to put our amateur status in perspective, we met an older couple out caching that day and casually asked how many finds they had.

We're just getting started.

I'm also looking forward to picking up a few out-of-state finds on my upcoming vacation.
