Google Mapology 101
Google adds yet another service today with the beta announcement of
Google Maps. Don't pay much attention to the "beta" label as most of their products are still in beta. I think they just mean that they're still actively developing them and you should expect things to change for the better.
There are still some features missing, but it's certainly a different twist on mapping from
Mappoint or
Mapquest. It's cool that you can click and drag on the map, so it's more like you're holding a real paper map in your hands. I wonder how long before they integrate this with the 3-D satellite imagery from
Keyhole, which they recently purchased? That would be really cool.
