Tips on Buying a Dining Room Table
When you buy a dining room table and the guys come out to deliver it - or even when the guy comes back to replace and fix things blemishes that you found earlier -- these would be good times to have them insert *both* leaves and any other options you might have purchased along with the table. Just to be sure. Merely inspecting the leaves for scratches is not sufficient.
Otherwise, you might find yourself underneath said table with
various hammers trying to gently coax the table into opening up further to accept a second leaf just an hour or two before your dinner guests are set to arrive.
You may find yourself beating on that table -- all without any visible damage, of course -- until you are just about ready to give up. Then, if you are lucky, it may budge just a little and then break free, allowing you to expand the table and seat everyone.
Better to let the delivery guys have that bit of fun. Lesson learned.
