Telemarketers on your Cell Phone?
I don't have a personal cell phone. I just recently got a work cell phone that they pay for. I typically keep it with me in case they or my family need to get in touch with me. I admit that it definitely comes in handy sometimes. But if this actually happens, there's no way I'll carry around a cell phone just to talk to telemarketers:

Your Cell Phone Number May be Made Public!
Attention cell phone users: brace yourself for
telemarketing calls and text ads on your mobile phone after its number is made public later this year. Worse, in most cases, you have to pay for those incoming calls and messages. A cell trade group will soon publish a public directory of cell phone numbers, and that means your cell number may no longer be private. (Verizon Wireless says it won't turn over its customer list.) Consumers Union is asking Congress to amend the CAN-SPAM Act to forbid unsolicited text message ads from being sent to cell phones. (This is a huge problem in Europe and Asia.) How do you feel about the possibility of getting telemarketing calls and unsolicited text messages on your cell phone? Add your comments [63].
